Role:

The Trader is responsible for the execution of all proprietary and client trades for the organization.
Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, the Trader is responsible for the execution of all proprietary and client trades for the organization

Responsibility for negotiating competitive rates with brokers
Assists with the development of short and long term financial goals and objectives
Recommends strategies to improve interest rate margins, fee income and portfolio diversification
Reviews securities/bond and equity issues and recommends securities/bonds and equities for purchase
Identifies and develops bond and equity trading in the local and international equities market
Analyses opportunities in the financial market and prepares relevant reports.

Minimum Qualifications and Experiences

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance or other equivalent qualification
Three (3) years’ experience as a Trader

Knowledge, Skills, Competences and Personal Attributes

Sound knowledge of treasury and equities trading management.
Well-developed knowledge of portfolio management practices.
Well-honed knowledge of the equities market and related trading activities.
Sound knowledge of investments, economics, financial markets, credit union products, asset and liability management and reporting.
Strong negotiation skills; personable and customer-focused.
Knowledge of the economic environment and its effects on business.
Knowledge of related support functions including accounting and relevant software applications; ability to use macros and linking databases.
Knowledge of the Securities and Pensions Regulations.
Sound decision-making skills
Solid accounting skills including fluent understanding of income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement.
Knowledge of Bloomberg and other databases is a distinct advantage.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
