INNOVATION & PROJECTS OFFICER

 

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Accountable to the Group CEO, the Innovation and Projects Officer is responsible for providing effective and efficient support for project management as well as supporting the development, execution, and management of key strategic initiatives within the Group.

The Innovation and Projects Officer will be responsible for: –

Strategy

  • Supports the Group CEO with the formulation of key strategic initiatives and translates them into an operational plan, assisting with communicating the strategies across the Group, and monitors the execution of activities relating to the plans.
  • Assists with the coordination of the planning and execution of the annual JCCUL Group Strategic Planning process.
  • Analyzes financial data to provide sound recommendations and advice as requested.

Project Management

  • Provides Project Management support and coordinates all major projects within the Group, as assigned by the Group CEO, ensures adherence to good project management and reporting requirements as well as the scope and objectives on completion.
  • Oversees and monitors project(s) to ensure they are completed on time and within budget whilst keeping the Group CEO informed.

Innovation

  • Drives innovation and transformative initiatives for key business areas, utilizes change management techniques, to improve organizational capabilities and efficiencies.
  • Leads new business development and analysis, facilitates the design and development of all new products and services throughout the Group.
  • Conducts practical research and keeps abreast of industry trends and developments with a view to assist in the development of new products and services.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management Studies or equivalent qualification from an accredited tertiary educational institution.
  • Certification in Project Management.
  • Training in Strategic Planning and Management, preferably to include the use of the Balanced Scorecard methodology.
  • Three (3) years’ related experience, preferably within a financial institution.

  • Expert Knowledge of Project Management, Strategic Planning, and New Product Development Methodology.
  • Business Acumen.
  • Knowledge of Change Management.
  • Articulate, diplomatic, and responsive.
  • Solid analytic, creative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Consistently displays integrity, model behavior, develops people, and builds team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to translate broad goals into achievable steps.
  • Demonstrated job commitment and personal flexibility to meet changing expectations.
