CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Cumax Wealth Management Limited (Cumax) is looking to engage an inspiring leader as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Cumax is a licensed Securities Dealer, Pension Fund Administrator and Investment Fund Manager. The Company is also a key subsidiary in the Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League Group. The CEO is accountable to the Group CEO and to Cumax’s Board of Directors for the achievement of strategic, financial, compliance and customer service objectives that enable the Company to achieve its Mission, Vision and Major Targets in a sustainable manner.

The Role

  • Reporting to the Group CEO and the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for overseeing all Cumax’s business activities, ensuring that the desired results are consistent with the entity’s and the Group’s mission and strategy
  • Developing high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short, medium and long term objectives
  • Leading, coaching and motivating all team members to advance employee engagement and developing/maintaining a high performance team
  • Maintaining a culture of accountability and adherence to regulatory guidelines and policies
  • Analysing problematic situations and occurrences to determine solutions that will ensure the organization’s sustainability and growth
  • Building trust relations with key partners and internal and external stakeholders
  • Representing the organization locally, regionally and internationally

Preferred profile

  • A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, or the equivalent in the management sciences, with formal training in Finance, Economics or General Management
  • Proven experience as CEO or other senior management position in the securities industry for at least four (4) years
  • Knowledge and experience in finance, marketing, information technology, human resources and the management of organisation culture change
  • Excellent networking, negotiation and people skills
  • Sound grasp of governance, corporate finance and performance management principles
  • Solid reputation in the financial industry

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and public speaking skills
  • Prior experience in a similar role would be a distinct advantage
  • Must own and operate a reliable motor vehicle to be used in the performance of duties
